人類的大腦是我們身體中最複雜的器官,有無數的細胞和纖維相互聯結。幾千年來哲學家、生物學家和科學家持續不懈地探索著大腦/心靈的關係和認知發展,試圖找出定論。
The human brain is the most complex organ of our body. There are countless
cells and fibers that interconnect each other. Philosophers, biologists, and scientists
have been trying to explore the brain/mind relationship and cognition development
over thousands of years. It still remains under investigation. Although there
is evidence for left-handedness and right-handedness, the generalizations for
the relationship between left brain and right brain and characteristics labels
are not supported by scientific studies on lateralization, as lateralization does not add specialized
usage from either hemisphere and evidence provides little support for
correlating the structural differences between the sides with such
broadly-defined functional differences (wikipedia).
Thus, it is hard to make definite statements that males are more left brained because most men are thought to be more rational, logical and that women are more right brained because most women tend to be more emotional. From the papers I have read, there
is experimental research saying that men tend to be left brain dominance while
women have more flexibility of using both left and right brains. Take an
instance from my experience, some of my female friends are rational and
masculine while some of my male friends are sensitive, sentimental and taking
great care of the people around them. To sum up, left brain and right brain have their
own labels; however, there has not been enough experimental research that can
completely predict the relationship between mind and personality and brain.
